its always sad to lose someone you really like whether he or she being a friend or relative.

RIP and godspeed for their parents dealing with the pain
I wouldn't say I was nick's best friend, or that I knew him better than other people. A lot of people knew him better than I did.

He was one-of-a-kind though.

He really was. We talked a lot on real id/steam friends about KU and Mizzou, him going to the latter and me the former. My first "wow" experience was him, Blanton, Aether, and Jake running me through Deadmines. Funny guy, hilariously on-point DoD sense of humor. I think he was part of some of the funnier stuff over the last 4 years, notably the "funny names" thread on gotfrag.

Blaxossi and his copenhagen will be missed.

heh yeah the whole funny names thread was a result of him and eric macaluso making up stupid names in ventrilo.

Met him at CPL, he was a good guy. It's a shame.

If anyone is up for contributing to a retrospective article on Nick for the the front page let me know. I'm sure his family would appreciate knowing the impact he had on others, even if it was just a bunch of DoD nerds that he came to know in such a dorky way.

what a tragedy. as many have said, he was one of the funniest guys to be around, and that is truly what will be missed about him. we paired up in my early days and joined rSports together, then the two of us joined x6 together with plans on going to wsvg, and then later on i brought him into JETTY. during that time span, he was one of my all time favorite teammates both in game and out of game. there wasnt a funnier guy to hang out with in vent, and there wasnt anyone with his sort of quickness, aim and reaction time. it was seriously UNREAL to watch him play DoD, and i am very privileged and honored to have been able to play with him as much as i did. I am also grateful that i got a chance to meet him in person at the san diego socal lan. i didnt know from experience, but i had heard stories from others that he was an incredible quake player too. he was just naturally gifted at games, and that comes from having a naturally gifted mind. i dont claim to have known him as well as others amongst the rSports crew, but i played a great deal with him. enough to get to know him pretty well and enough to feel very saddened over this. He is the epitome of why i have loved playing dod and just gaming in general so much. There are so many interesting, funny, and amazing people all around the united states that none of us would have ever gotten a chance to meet or associate with in our lifetimes had it not been for competing in online games, and he was DEFINITELY one of those gems. RIP nick, and sorry to aether purdy ian dan crus scotty and all the rest of those guys who i knew were really close with him.
