Re: DoD LAN (Part 2)
I don't understand what you're saying. If you don't care about the prize purse, then why should you care if you get stomped by a good team on LAN? Wouldn't you rather lose with people you're friends with and like playing with as opposed to randoms that by some chance you may not like? It sounds like you actually care about your chances of winning if you like this draft idea.seanality wrote:I like a draft idea or 12 man idea. Honestly people back out when they hear that one or two players on their team might not go. It would probably be much more beneficial to go to a LAN where the teams are made on the spot like a draft or a random assigning. Not to mention I don't want to have to play against DRUGS or THUNDER anyway, I would much rather play for fun with a little bit of competition than play like a try hard for a month before going to the LAN just to win a small purse.
Who honestly cares if their is any money for the LAN. Aren't we all old enough where $100 (when we spent around $300-400 to get there) means nothing to us?

I just don't think duality would ever be picked up by a willing team. 0-23 is going to stay with you till your 60.

I have done quite a bit on LAN since then. Just not in DoD.Polak wrote:I just don't think duality would ever be picked up by a willing team. 0-23 is going to stay with you till your 60.
What I am saying is scrap the idea of a prize purse so we don't all have to spend more money to get there and make it a pug style. This way instead of having 6 teams of 6 we could possibly get 50-60 people to show and make teams there. Maybe have a whole weekend of just having pugs and hanging out. If you are trying to have a "fair well LAN" I'd think you would want more people there. Even if I was on a great team or even if I was on a team of friends I would rather go to a "fair well LAN" with more people from the community than have 6 teams of people.rymoz wrote: I don't understand what you're saying. I am just saying, the idea of having more people from the community sounds more fun and appealing than just having a tournament with around 6 teams.
Re: DoD LAN (Part 2)
i can guarantee you less people would show up for a 'pug' lan then they would a lan they get to make a team with their friends they used to play with all the time...prize money or not.
