Re: Appeal?
I've never seen that before except when a new AC team comes in.
Re: Appeal?
Back in the day when I was TPG-AC we had an appeal process that was hardly ever used but basically just meant that some new ac and non ac admins had to watch it without talking to any of us who originally banned them and if they found something different than we went from there.

Re: Appeal?
The appeals process is actually a good thing.
It's DoD in 2012, so it's hard to take any of this nonsense seriously, but this is one area where we definitely should do our due diligence in regulating our own community.
Narc is a good admin and has put together a really good AC team. I have a lot of confidence in their abilities. They all have the qualities that you look for in good AC admins.
However, it's never a perfect process. A lot of times the evidence isn't as complete as you would like it to be, so it makes it really difficult to make a decision. I remember there were plenty of times when I was running CAL AC that I really annoyed all of my admins in making them prove to me that someone they wanted to ban was cheating without a doubt, when in my gut I just couldn't see it. Other times it was clear as day to me that someone was hacking, but the actual evidence to prove it to any of the other admins was lacking.
It's a complicated job, and no case is ever really cut and dry (beas), aside form huge **** ups (jotch, dreN, crazykilla).
The appeals process gives the league an opportunity for all of that internal struggle or potential drama to play out before the final ban hamer is bestowed upon the player in question.
Good admins avail themselves and their staff to that process because they know the credibility of the league and of their staff means much more than their own personal feelings or opinions. You hire a team that you can trust, and let the process take care of itself, and the appeals process is a huge part of that.
So, kudos to Narc and the rest of the AC admins going through this totally not fun part of the job. DoD is lucky to still have people who care enough to put up with being an Admin.

I +repped you, but then I looked at your rep and realized what a meaningless gesture it is at this point.Sears wrote:The appeals process is actually a good thing.

Re: Appeal?
I was just wondering the process is all. I read awhile back that you build a case and I like that rather than taking one weeks demo and slapping them with a ban. (although I do know some are blatant). I agree there arent many who care anymore although alot would bitch about DOD dying again lol. Thanks to the AC team and everyone who operates TPG its been a blast the last three seasons for me. Im glad this overly sarcastic community manages to stay intact, but I thought this was hilarious because of its time with the whole Ryan Braun events in the MLB. So with that ill expect Bausch to make an epic post when/if he's cleared.
Re: Appeal?
lol @ jotch and dren. never saw ck's demos, but I think I was at the point of not playing dod anymore at that time...Sears wrote:The appeals process is actually a good thing.
