Re: TPG Season 27 - Week 8 MOTW
I know a lot of people weren't able to watch it live because they had to play their matches, but we still broke our traffic record yesterday with 456 unique visitors and 1537 visits. We usually average 350/950 on good days. In the grand scheme of things these are really modest numbers, but I'm totally blown away that there are that many people tuning into DoD happenings in 2012, surreal.

Re: TPG Season 27 - Week 8 MOTW
ok so we were discussing some issues, especially with the lag in the timing with the live stream. completely understand that people want to watch the hltv instead of the stream for several reasons:
- obviously closer to the live action (less delayed than the stream)
- having the freedom to control the way you want to view the match
last match, by watching the hltv instead of the stream, people missed out on the shoutcast (which sucked for some people and not for others who didnt want to hear the shitty voices of chuck and matt). but for those of you who are interested in listening we came up with at least a temporary/simple solution that we will probably try for the next MOTW (first round of playoffs):
- everyone will be able to enter the shoutcast channel with matt and chuck (since half of the community has admin and gets in there anyways)
- to make sure theres not seventeen people saying random shit, well mute the entire channel and then unmute chuck and matt
- that way people have the option to watch the shoutcast and listen to their delayed commentary
- or listen to the shoutcast in the channel and follow the match on hltv at the same time.
so for the next MOTW everyone will be able to come into the channel, muted, and listen to matt and chuck deal out the shit talk. i think its worth still having the stream for people that want to follow chucks directing and also for the replay

I agree with having actual interview questions. Maybe even pull someone in before the match and someone after. Prior to the day of the MOTW maybe get with someone from each team and have a write up to put on the main page to go along with what Sears has up there already?
"Insert random questions here"
"Which player from 'team A' do you think you have to watch out for?"
"Who are you looking forward to fragging the most?"
blah blah blah..
You could even make it a file and have one person from each team just submit it to Eric directly through the site so you don't have to forward it through 5 people before it makes it back to the main source.
Just throwing out ideas to help make it better. If you guys ever want help with anything that you just need a body for, im sure people are willing to help, at least I know I am. As others have said, Thanks a lot Matt, Motive, and Sears for doing this. I think it adds something cool to the community.

Re: TPG Season 27 - Week 8 MOTW
I actually pulled Narc aside before the match started to do this 'cause I had my questions all ready. I was either going to put it up on the pre-game or cut to it during the match, maybe at halftime.seaN wrote:Prior to the day of the MOTW maybe get with someone from each team and have a write up to put on the main page to go along with what Sears has up there already?
Then I felt really dumb for investing entirely too much time on a Day of Defeat match and didn't do it.

Yes, please keep this silly. If it gets too serious, then all the irony is lost, and we're just being super cereal about DoD 1.3 in 2012.
If we were to hold a 1911 awards show. You would have my nomination you for the "Eschy" for best avater.
