Sharky,

You may not realize this, and I hope you do, but everyone here has been through their own history of "pubbing". Everyone starts out as one and many of us even joined a, what would be considered as, "pub" clan. Over time, some get better and some don't. This whole "toning it down" thing is not as simple as you think, especially if there are unreasonable admins. Yes, there are people whose specific goal is to empty the server - as you say. But, for the most part, for most of us, we really just want to play DoD and I'm sure you guys do, too.

DoD is second nature to most of us (and, of course, this is open to interpretation), so to speak. Once you excel at something, you're always going to be around that level, whether or not you are washed up / haven't played in awhile. I guess you can think of it as riding a bike. For everyone who knows how to ride a bike, it's easy to just pick up a bike and ride it. Even if you haven't ridden one in a long time, it wouldn't take you that long to figure it out again.

Anyways, what I'm trying to say is: stop being so crazy.

Advice to server admins:

Some people who have played the game since 2001 and actually understand the dynamics of the game and the tendancies of most pub players just means they are better and play smarter than the average player. It doesn't make them cheaters, just better. Who doesn't want to play against the best competition? It does make it more fun for a lot of people.

First impressions in a video game is DEFINITELY not the same as in real life. I hardly say anything in pubs and I like to believe that I am a very nice guy. Successful, even.

This is just stupid. What you just said is the definition of stereotyping.
If you're suggesting this, then I'm sad.

1. No one wants to listen to most of the random shit people spew over voice, let alone talk to any of them.

2. The grounds for most of our bans are because you think we're cheating considering most of us have never spoken to you until bans occur. Obviously, that's a rule. How do we avoid supposedly breaking that rule when your concept of cheating is "he's better than me--must be cheating"?

3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Association_fallacy
"All dogs have four legs; my cat has four legs. Therefore, my cat is a dog." This made me think of you, ChriscatdogCoventry. <3

4. Pretty sure we're playing for fun, too. I'll concede that since an admin pays for the server, it's his prerogative as to how it should be managed. I don't think any of us go into a pub thinking, "oh, I need to prove to these guys (or myself) that I can do well"...

5. Sadly, we'd probably still be better than you using a bazooka, greasegun, and rifle butt, so how would that solve your problem of us supposedly clearing out servers? I'm not going to waste my time in a pub server trying to buttsmack you for 40 minutes. There's really no fun in doing what we consider to be stupid shit.

6. This would require me to interact with people. #1.

7. It's giggle-worthy that you say this, but I fail to recall any instance in which anyone in this community was afforded the opportunity to grace you with the knowledge that is being better than you. It's almost always... "Hey, you're hacking. Don't deny you're hacking. I can tell you're hacking. CAL? TPG? They're all hackers. Bye."

8. I also don't recall very many people arguing with anyone at all. You ban people without saying a word and then refuse to accept logic as your Lord and savior when they request to be unbanned on your forums. That's why we argue.

9. Isn't a group of four larger than a group of two?

10. #8. No one goes into a pub with the intention of arguing with anyone. You seem unable to grasp cause and effect. We're banned and subsequently become "butthurt 12 year olds", not the other way around. We post on the forums. You fail to see any form of reason aside from the one you've concocted and we get mad at that (... MaDaThaT?)...

Sincerely,
Your mother.

PS. Reading books for pictures doesn't help your English as well as reading books for the words does.
