§2.3.2 Cvars
Only commands and Cvars approved by TPG League may be used in the game console or config files. No Cvar may be altered from its default value, except via the use of the game options menu, or unless explicitly approved by the TPG League.
Is there a list of explicitly approved settings?
Approved Cmd/Cvar list?

Re: Approved Cmd/Cvar list?
Dan, this subject was heavily discussed in previous seasons (to use a cfg/anticheat tool) but at that time we didn't had much options to chose / adapt for DoD. ESL wire could potentially be the savior but all ESL died before a single tournament started.
I believe the rules assume that the only cvars allowed to be changed are the ones that can modified from the options. Yeah, everybody knows that. However, since TPG does not require the user cfg along with demos - in fact it is pointless to ask since the disputed can pretty much send any cfg/valid cfg. We heard some time ago about norecoil scripts being used but without a tool that can actually detected whats in being used, its nearly impossible to do something.
I believe that some people here still have rock age desktops therefore they try to gather as much as fps they can. So, the cvar cl_weather "0" is common to be found because the turns off rain effects particles in some maps and some map explosions. However, as per the rules, it is not a listed cvar and can't changed in options either.

Re: Approved Cmd/Cvar list?
I mean, according to a strict reading of the rules, I'm not allowed to type "sensitivity 1.2" or whatever into console unless it's an "Approved cvar". I'm not asking for a config checker, I just want to know if there's a list of acceptable commands/cvars. A certain tpg admin informed me of a cvar with an interesting effect a while back and I have no idea whether that is just general knowledge now or I shouldn't be using it in scrims/matches.cassinoroyale wrote:Dan, this subject was heavily discussed in previous seasons (to use a cfg/anticheat tool) but at that time we didn't had much options to chose / adapt for DoD.
