Biggie down
Re: Biggie down
Meh, the phrase was wrong but he is correct. Its illegal and anyone who really felt like it just needs some ip logs and a willingness to contact the popo.
So really, kids are lucky the server owners arent as big of assholes as they are or people would be getting arrested.

Pretty sure they may consider it some type of "computer hacking". Which, in itself, is quite the punishable offense. I believe it becomes federal when the offense is very serious. Either way, its highly, highly frowned upon by any level of government.unpro wrote:Meh, the phrase was wrong but he is correct. It becomes federal when it occurs across state lines and there is a federal law prohibiting it.CharlieGiteau wrote:Pretty sure they may consider it some type of "computer hacking". Re: Biggie down
trying to push charges on someone for an exploit on a server for a game that's 14yrs old and caused a brief interruption of service... pretty sure the authorities will laugh at you and not spend the resources to harass someone over that

For what was done, you're probably right. Gotta start somewhere though right!? Crackheads usually start with lighter stuff.dane wrote:trying to push charges on someone for an exploit on a server for a game that's 14yrs old and caused a brief interruption of service... pretty sure the authorities will laugh at you and not spend the resources to harass someone over that
Re: Biggie down
it was a hypothecial thing, i am not the owner, even though it would be stupid it's still a felony, just saying. Even if it wouldnt be considered as it by authorities to push charges, the owner still may had the possibilty to make it a subject of civil law and try to get compensation.dane wrote: lol 10 posts later and I didn't read this shit but how am I this first person to point how big of a moron this guy is? Don't push charges on me bro.
have a look at this maybe that proofs how seriouse authorities can take some cases http://www.theinternetpatrol.com/high-s ... to-hit-f5/
