You just have to actually put some effort into it and spend time playing there and building a user base. The problem being is that people don't want to do that, they would rather just 12 man.
we can start a 1911 club, like all those vent crews, except all you need to do to be in it is be involved in this community
time to start pubbing with [1911] at the end of my name yea?
I don't expect this server to be an overnight sensation or anything like that. Yea keeping a pub running and populated takes some work, but the way I see it... what our little community here puts into it is what we will get out of it. Believe me, I'm not going to lose any sleep if by chance this whole idea is a complete failure like the #scrimdod pub and I end up canceling the server after a few months. It's worth a shot is all I am saying. What is there to lose exactly?
I don't have the time to maintain a site, write articles, predict matches, run a league or anything like that. Me providing this server to you guys is my attempt at doing my part to revive competitive DoD, just because it's a game that I love and grew up on. I will set up the server based on all the suggestions I am receiving and I will give admin access to those that are serious about it(without the ability to ban). We will go from there. If after a couple of months it's still a ghost town, I will just cancel it. No big deal.

This has been tried eternally. #dodscrim, #scrimdod both had one, theres been a cal league one, and a tpg one. They've all failed due to lack of use. You cant just expect competitive players to use this, because lets face it, who here wants to take the time and energy to populate a server on a daily basis. Really, this can only be done if you have a community of public server players that someone mentioned above.
As someone who runs a pub clan, let me tell you, its a lot of work and sometimes very annoying. If you don't go into this 100%, don't go into it at all.
Any new pub server would be good, and a pub server ran by the community is better. I tried a server but honesly never put a whole lot of effort into it. put it up set up rotation thats it. noone used it. I wish they did, but they didnt, so i stopped paying for it. Im all for it and wish the best. If I can do anything to help besides playing in it, just ask.
