Protein Powder
Protein Powder
I have been buying Optimum Nutrition Whey protein for quite some time now, usually in a five pound tub for around $50-$60 (after shipping costs). Lately I have been purchasing the ON Natural Oat product, made with whey concentrate, cane juice, and blended oats. I was just wondering if anyone knows any cost efficient, decent tasting, and natural protein powders to try?? I am not objected to taking soy or even vegetable proteins (even though some may argue they do not get into your system fast enough like whey), as long as the cost is around my price range and do not have an ingredients list a mile long.
I realize I could sit and look on amazon or BB.com, but our community has a good following in weightlifting and appreciate your opinions, except for Sean as your deadlifting form sucks. Just kidding!!

Re: Protein Powder
Syntha 6 is your best bet, taste is awesome also
Re: Protein Powder
I'm currently using Optimum Nutrition Whey as well but I switch the flavors up so it doesn't get old. I have used Gaspari Myofusion in the past and it is the same price for a 5lb tub. Try the cinnamon roll flavor.
What do you use for a pre-workout supp?

I just drink 2 litres of chocolate milk and let the results speak for themselves.
Re: Protein Powder
Syntha-6 is a good protein but the taste does come at a little bit of a cost. It does have a little bit higher sugar and calories. But overall as long as your watching your calories its good.

Re: Protein Powder
ON Gold Standard is my bread and butter.
I just recently bought Syntrax Matrix 5.0 in a 5lbs bag and Giant Sports Delicious Protein in a 2lbs tub.
The Syntrax Matrix is good tasting, breaks up well, and is cheap as hell. It's a mix of proteins which is nice; whey, egg, and cassein. The Giant Sports Delicious does not break down very well and it is a little gritty.
Honestly... I would stick with the ON Gold, its high in protein per a serving with a low carb content. It tastes delicious and it doesn't cost too much. I take about 8 scoops a day on lifting days and about 3-5 on off days.
Syntha-6 is over priced and I honestly don't like the other products the company makes.

When do you drink your shakes? 8 scoops seems like a lot of whey unless some of that is casein.seanality wrote:ON Gold Standard is my bread and butter.
