Re: Help Stop Bullying Plz RIP Amanda Todd
im glad you think i dont say shit in life outside of the internet. good to know that stereotype still exists. i dont think you understood what i wrote. i stay quiet because i say really offensive and mean shit without even realizing im saying really offensive and mean shit. it doesnt click in my head im saying really bad shit to people. it usually takes me a while to even accept i might have said really bad shit. my brain accepts overly blunt or horribly offensive as best if it gets the point across fastest, most people dont. i have trouble keeping that from effecting other people. i stay quiet so i dont get in 10 fights a week and offend everyone i meet.
i observe. i read. i know more about social interactions than most people - including parent/child interactions, simply because im trying to become a better person in regards to social interaction. observing and reading about how our society interacts is my best way to do that since i cant afford a degree in sociology or the therapy to help me. just because im terrible at it, doesnt mean i dont know it or understand it.
What published information are your reading to make you understand more about social interactions than most people? Also if you are so knowledgeable, they do have other alternatives than paying cash up front for a degree in sociology and or therapy, which would help actually give your arguments some credence rather than you spouting off that you know more than say someone who has gone through the painstaking process of obtaining their degree and multiple hours of study to say exactly what you just said.
I have seen a lot of war movies, and have played dod on and off for 13 or so years... I have watched demos, and listened to ventrilo's,and shoutcasts during matches. I know more about war than the average person.

Take a 100 level psych course on child development and you'll know more about parenting than 80% of parents.

Also I doubt there is a 100 level course on child development. IDIOT.

Child development was like 25-50% of the 101 course that I took for my psych concentration. You know, the one that repeats high school psych on theories of sensation and general anatomy/physiology.alex kirk wrote:Aka, in graduate school for clinical psychology.scorch- wrote:Take a 100 level psych course on child development and you'll know more about parenting than 80% of parents.

Most developmental psych is more theoretical/pseudo-science than anything. I mean, I wouldn't even qualify half that shit as a "soft science" so much as just downright anecdotal theory. Undergraduate psychology is the greatest joke of all undergraduate majors, for the most part.scorch- wrote:Child development was like 25-50% of the 101 course that I took for my psych concentration. I say this as a psych major. Clinical psych/clinical neuropsych. In grad school. If I ever teach psychology to undergrads, it'd get messy.
"Okay, class, this is Sigmund Freud. He's an artifact of psychology who spewed a bunch of stuff, 99% being ridiculous nonsense. Any questions? Good. Moving on, let's read some actual studies."

Yeah, I don't think there was much developmental psychology in that class. It was more along the lines of "this is what a human being can do at age 3".alex kirk wrote:Most developmental psych is more theoretical/pseudo-science than anything.
