server hosting

Post by mistadobalina »

howdy. i have decided to invest in a server, and would appreciate some input/opinions on server hosting companies. i've been looking at branzone or possibly gameservers, but if someone could steer me in the right direction it would be much obliged.

Honestly, the best option for DoD servers is still Nuclear Fallout.

Pretty much all dod servers are nfo these days, some people have routing and registration issues with them, but imo they are still the best option.

Not all nfo's are created equal. Please don't get a NY server.

Some have trouble with any of them, but it seems Denver is like you mentioned, terrible for everyone.

So far I've tried the following server hosting companies and locations

Multiplay, Herndon VI
Gameservers, Montreal QC
Hosted Game Servers, Pennsylvania PA
Art of War, New York NY
Branzone, New York NY
Branzone, Chicago IL
Branzone, Dallas TX
Nuclear Fallout, Chicago IL
Nuclear Fallout, New York NY

Now I've been very happy with NFO and have maxed out the options available there.

Just don't give any money to whoever is hosting dgf's server and you'll probably be alright.

I used to have a gameserver a few years ago, and rarely had anyone that complained about reg, it was in dallas also.
Dunno how they are now.

I currently have a nfo chicago server. I havent played on it an awful amount but havent had problems on it when i have and have heard from others that it plays well. Biggest thing is know how to set up and maintain a server and you can get a good server for pretty reasonable price. I dont know price of any others besides nfo but think its like 11$ a month for server and hltv. If you would like info to my server to try it out in scrims, or check stats on it or whatnot let me know.
