CleanDoD
Re: CleanDoD
does that matter? if you're going to REQUIRE a client to be used in conjunction with a game that can be played on multiple operating systems, it seems necessary to have it compatible with them all.
it's not fair to exclude certain parties just because they happen to be using a less popular platform. the only reason I came back to DoD, which I've played since 2004, is because I realized steam is now supported on Mac (which I'm stuck with because I don't have room in my apartment for my desktop).
It's half-assed because I've seen MULTIPLE people bitch and complain about the poor quality of the client, and now that I have seen it's not even compatible across platforms, shows me that it's a burden that was not properly built to complement the game.

I mean, this is the most half-assed thing I've ever seen.
How is it half-assed? There's what, maybe 5 people, at the very most, that even play on a Mac?
There are well over 5 bud

Haven't used it yet, but this doesn't sound very functional. I vote no client. Democracy.

Re: CleanDoD
Not a single problem. Installed easily, functions like it should, doesn't lag my computer at all.
The irony that people are reinstalling steam to "get this to work" makes me chuckle.

Well, I mean, YOU should.Jstampz wrote:kevo wrote:THIS THING DOESN'T WORK ON MAC?
WHY WOULD THIS NOT SUPPORT ALL OPERATING SYSTEMS THE GAME CAN RUN ON?
I'M NOT PROUD I'M USING A MAC. BUT, THIS IS ALL I HAVE THESE DAYS.
ARE YOU KIDDING?
I pretty sure there are more people who can't play this season due to cleanDOD. Do we HAVE to use it?

Re: CleanDoD
Forgive me if I'm misinterpreting this exchange, but how is playing with a malfunctioning client doing anything to prevent the game from dying? I have not even tried the client yet but if it turns out to be as bad as some people are saying I would probably just save myself the hassle and not play this game in TPG anymore.Jakimo wrote:i clicked twice and it worked. and im probably higher than most.kevo wrote:does that matter? if you're going to REQUIRE a client to be used in conjunction with a game that can be played on multiple operating systems, it seems necessary to have it compatible with them all.

Lots of people have said that it's resulted in having to reinstall Steam and all their games, others have said it's terrible in-game, etc. If it is that bad and we are forced to play with it, there's a chance it could actually kill the game faster
But again, let me know if I'm missing something here.

not my fault this shitty program doesn't work if you have dod installed on a different hard drive than steam, dumb shittwist wrote:Not a single problem. Installed easily, functions like it should, doesn't lag my computer at all.
