Absolutely. I was just saying that it doesn't seem like there has been any obvious message from the TPG admins that they were even looking into it. But, I know see that that is incorrect.

Unfortunately, it still seems as though I won't be able to play because I use a Mac. I think that's bull, but whatever, I understand that I am probably the only one who uses a Mac.

I have made a support ticket and I know it's only been a couple days. But, my reason for bringing this up is because I felt as though I was just going to be ignored since my problem stems from my use of a mac, and I'm probably the only one with this problem. And I perceive that as being a more pointless fix being that it is for a single person, as opposed to fixes that affect 99.9% of the other users. Again, because I didn't see any messages from mods saying they were even looking into anything, I got restless and made this post to try and consolidate any updates on cleandod.

A MAC user might want to try this http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/ i have no idea if it works, but it might be worth a shot.

No, but you're most likely one of those users that sit on their ass and crying out loud instead of trying to do anything about it.

It does not belong to them in any way, and they do not control this information or the client itself (let alone understand it in any way that is practical).
Okay, if you GOOGLE your steam id, you're 95% sure to find your IP from one of the pubs, for example AMX mod records your IP and put it up on the stats page.

Also, if you're worried it might be a virus or anything, install the AC, run the AC, and then give me a hijackthis log from you, and ill check it out.

Also, virus alerts, in general, if a program or any other component of a program(such as a .dll file) is trying to INTERFERE, with another program, then most AV's WILL notice it, since that is similiar to how a virus/spyware works. Very basic explanation, but yeah, it's similar.

If you're REALLY worried, or maybe one of the TPG admins, could send the AC client to a a security company, for example Kaspersky(http://support.kaspersky.com/virlab/helpdesk.html).

/End
Without reading the site, does this cost anything? And what information will they tell you regarding the program, exactly?

I'm not sure what exactly they will tell. I would assume they'd do a regular file analysis and then say "we do not believe this to be harmfull but we cannot guarantee".
It is however one of the bigger security companies, and i have only positive things to say about them(Bussines-2-bussines).

As far as i can see, it will not cost anything.

If you are their customer, it will go faster though.

come on kirk, you are one of the most logical thinking persons on this board, why the sudden emotional illogical paranoia? cass was pushing this on me for seasons and as a result ive had one version or other installed on both my computers for over a year. all my money is still in my bank account, my SS# has not been stolen, my computer has not been hijacked. what evil mastermind would target the dod and dods communities. the source kids have been using this for awhile not, maybe talking to crono or whomever could alleviate your symptoms.

What you seem to be ignoring is my adamant assertion that tpg has NOTHING to do with cleandod, its functionality, or the site where it's information is collected. Furhtermore the developers who it does belong to aren't even subject to your country's laws regarding security privacy and who knows what else.
And forgive me if I find it laughable that any honest participant in this league would surrender their security logs to the likes of you, lolinus.

If you want to use the client and are having technical issues, tpg admins know nothing that can help you. Just go to http://www.cleandod.com.br/ and ask for help yourself.

Also here's the dev privacy policy:

Privacy Policy
All information provided to CleanDoD.com.br during registration will be used only for future CleanDoD marketing campaign. And could be used as non-anonymous data by CleanDoD.com.br for future contact to users.
The captured information through the software is present at the monitorment file, including:
Game analisys data, except CDKeys or password provided to access the game.
Game installation path.
Machine Time.
IP Address.
Current running processes.
Computer Hardware Information: Processor, Motherboard, BIOS, Hard-Drive and Video Card.
The monitorment file is user's responsability. If any personal data is present inside the file, it could be deleted by request.
All registration data are stored in a secure enviroment.
The password is stored using a Hash algorithm.

Can this get more ridiculous?

What, exactly, do you want me to do about it? I've considered using wine. However, considering that most users are having performance issues using the client on it's native operating system, I can only imagine the way it would run through wine. I've also filed a support ticket, as I said previously.

Not to mention, I'm not choosing to use this. I don't cheat. I've never cheated. It's a video game that is like 20 years old, who the hell gets gratification out of cheating in a game where there are <100 people who even play. I'm being FORCED to use something that wasn't properly built to begin with. I shouldn't have to spend 10+ hours researching crap online just to get a client to work to play a video game, when it should've worked in the first place.

Do I want to try and get this to work? Yes, absolutely. But, don't turn it around on me like it's MY fault.

Maybe you should just disappear for a few months again, seems like that would be a pretty awesome event all around.

True, I'm just getting paid to work within companys IT enviroments, can't believe they'd do that. I offered my services, you denied fine.

What you are failing to understand, is basic bussiness. IF THEY ARE EARNING MONEY ON A PRODUCT YOU SURE AS SHIT WOULD NOT THROW THAT AWAY JUST TO GET A FEW GAMERS PERSONAL INFORMATION. Also, you can press charges in a different country, i aint a lawyer, so someone else should break that point down for you.

You just seems to dislike TPG.

@kevo, YOU HAVENT EVEN TRIED IT.
