Enlisting in the Army following my bachelor's at University of Memphis.
Still lifting hard but only train legs once a week. Sorry Joey.
Typical teen age yard work job around the lovely city of Memphrica
I hope you meant you are going for a commission in the Army instead of enlisting with that future degree. Enlisting would mean joining as a private. No point in doing so with a degree...go officer.
I plan to go for commission . I want to graduate with a degree in civil engineering.
I was told by a former Army sergeant to graduate with the degree, serve two years then lay that degree on my CO's desk.
But I plan to get commissioned as an officer. I'd like to try and be a ranger or try to be in any other spec ops
If you're going to get a degree in civil engineering, I wouldn't go into an infantry job. Whether you decide to do 5 years or 20 years, you will have a much harder time than most new grads getting an engineering job after the military without direct job experience. Also, any enlisted guy would tell you that they respect new officers more if they have prior enlisted experience. However, respect is ultimately based off of how you perform your job as a leader. New officers are definitely looked at closely, but if you prove your worth (just like any job in the military), you will be fine.
