You guys need to stop hating on the safety and effectiveness of CrossFit and its training for "functional strength." This video should convince you of CrossFit's efficacy.

Wow that just is painful to watch. How do people watch those videos and think "hey, that's strength"? They all look out of control and if they were actually lifting heavy weights they would just fall over because their angles are all wrong. I don't even lift or really know proper form for that lift, but it should be criminal teaching people to lift like that. Do people not get terrible injuries doing that shit?

Makes you wonder what the hell "CrossFit certified" means. All I can think when I see that video is, "good night, sweet spinal cord."

I imagine the reason they don't get injuries is because it's not heavy weight. They are using bumper weights, so it looks like a lot, but I'll bet those girls aren't doing more than ~40-50 pounds. Of course the problem comes into play when they want to up the weight, as progressive loading is what determines gains in strength and hypertrophy. That's when they'll be ****, assuming they keep doing that.
