I think Rippetoe's is the quintessential starting strength program. I think it's just the most well-revered for getting the initial, linear gains. Just stick with it as long as you're still gaining strength. Once you stop gaining, time for something else.
5x5 like Ricky mentioned, 5/3/1, Smolov, etc. More advanced training routines, higher frequency, a little more volume. You'll look like Kai Greene within 12 months, bro.

Also: I haven't read the entire text, just the basics of the routine. But if Rip talks about nutrition at all, just ignore that shit. He's brilliant when it comes to training, but admits that his understanding of nutrition is crazy limited.

http://scoobysworkshop.com/ any opinions on this dude? I don't know shit about routines, but I set up a custom routine through his website that I might start. I've been doing 400 pushups daily, with pullups mixed in every few days.

no not at all I've been doing pushups every day, and i figured i'd get some type of routine going, and i spotted this dudes website. I don't know anything about working besides the few things i googled which happen to bring me to this dudes site... :O
edit: I've never worked out my entire life minus playing sports in high school, but thats close to 9 years ago or so. even with what I've been doing, I noticed great results so I'm hooked.

Scooby is a nice guy who legitimately tries to help people, but he spews so much misinformation it hurts. Do you have any equipment at your disposal or no? Dumbbells, gym, home workout set, bands, etc.? Or absolutely nothing?
