No problem sloth , i just don't like misunderstandings.
Like i said i fix computer for living or kind of , i'm not a kid who play 24/7.
But is ok , sometimes ppl act in that way when they just don't get it :)
Don't get me wrong i have good sense of humor and enjoy sarcasm sometimes.

None of the network registry values exist on my system... Am I supposed to create them?

these doesnt exist apparently all DWORD reg values, so yes you coudl creat em:
EnablePMTUBHDetect = "0"
EnablePMTUDiscovery = "1"
GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize = "7FFF" hex (or 32767 decimal)
TcpMaxDupAcks = "2"
SackOpts = "1"
TcpWindowSize = "7FFF" hex (or 32767 decimal)

Those Exist:
DefaultTTL = "80" hex (or 128 decimal) -> existing with value 40 hex
Tcp1323Opts = "1"

btw. something didnt worked for me, whatever it was, it made me get better reg but also get loss and a litle skip arround i tryed to change the the rates but also didnt work (after that i was too lazy to try mroe and set everysthing back to how it was except the changes whcih were made by the internet connection tool), maybe my internet connection is way to different or it's the QoS setting, couse i dont understand why to set the QoS reserve limit to 0% since Reserved bandwidth for a game should be better then no reserved bandwidth and QoS shouldnt have any influnce on the internet traffic since this setup should only work in your LAN and when it hits the router the QoS policys of your ISP should be in place, except you are haveing a VPN connection to a server or something like that which probably no one has. If anybody can explain me the reason for this etting plz go ahead.

Yes , if keys doesn't exist create them (dword).
Make sure keys doesn't exist before create them , you wont same keys with different values.

QoS setting are set 20% by default on windows operative systems , for that reason you have to enable and set it at 0%.
This shit was made to windows use that 20% if needed.

I have those settings for years , never went wrong.
My netgraph have always 0 choke and 0 loss playing with +200 ping.
If you think QoS setting is making you lag or something , just change it back to 20% and disable it.

Another good trick is to build a .bat to launch the game in high priority , but i think is the same than add -high on dod launch options.
EDITED :
my .bat shortcut is not to set the game on high priority (thats goes on launch options) , my .bat is to set the affinity to the executable.
mine is :
start /affinity F /high hl.exe
be careful , those are my own settings , so check your processor details and google it and set hl.exe to use the cores you want.
Im still not sure if old games are able to work with more than 1 core.

btw , looks like in this forums some ppl have good knowledge about this , so share your tips too.

if you set QoS to 0% there wont be any bandwidth reserved for the application so if you are haveing any programs other application on the LAN running and you get to the badnwidth limit the computer regularly acts after a first come server principal in a bad case dod isnt the first comer and it's bandwidth get cut down which should creat loss/choke. so reservering badnwidth for the application should be a bridge if there is a high network load ergo you wont get any problems since it can get bandwidth from the reserved pool.

Why should it be like that:

i use QoS in my company to prioratize virtual desktops (which run on a server cluster) were people get on through a thin client on our VPN network so that there is always enough bandwidth for the VDS and other network services in case espacialy internet or if ppl. in our company feel the need to donwload something on some non virtual desktop in this particular subnetwork this doesnt occupy the internet connection with the download traffic and and makes it hard to work on the VDS. even though this is a slightly different case as this is setup on the routers/Security Gateways it's nearly the same on the machine, but here you can only set a value of reserved badnwidth for every running application which may connects to the LAN, as the computer policys doesnt have any influence on the router/external network this just applys in the LAN ( ISP regularly use QoS also to limit for example the traffic couse by torrents or youtube, this is probably setup in their routers).

hope this gives a litle deeper inside on QoS settings, but how ever it is, if it works for you there is no need to change anything or start useing a lot of brain power on the matter :p

If you can't open gpedit.msc on Win7 Home, follow instructions here: http://thecustomizewindows.com/2011/07/ ... um-enable/

Just tested and ran procmon and it doesn't look like it's doing anything shady, just adding the necessary files to the system folders.
