people just like having something to blame their deaths on, even when the impact is minimal.
The Cevo client made my game completely unplayable. Especially the random screenshots. On my old machine it would literally freeze for like 3 seconds when a snapshot was taken. I know others that experienced equally poor performance. I don't have any plans of writing, recommending, or playing with anything that takes random screenshots during a match.
I wouldn't mind seeing if we could make some sort of rate enforcer or cvar enforcer work though. Thanks for the link Wonderbread.

It really depends on how these snapshots are taken. If they're stored on your dod folder, while your game is running, it really can freeze your screen or even crash your DoD. However, two of the anti cheats I mentioned you stored these snapshots inside the anti cheats folder. You don't even notice when these snapshots are taken. The main thing about EAC is that it's used mostly for Counter-Strike. CleanDoD in the other hand had some issues with the installation in some PC/OS's. As soon as I see you online I'll message you about them if you would like to know more about.

I do not believe this was one of the server add-ons we used, but it looks like it does the same things that DodGuard did. If anyone wants to try this out during scrims and let me know how it affects performance I would appreciate it.
Just make sure you remove it before a match.
I see 3 main things to toy around with in the config file:
- e_ticrate "0.4" Every how many seconds it checks the cvars (I don't think it needs to be every 0.4 seconds)
- e_forceintegrity "1" Enforces file consistency with the server for models and sprites (this would poll the user's hard drive and might affect performance)
- The various e_querycvar commands define the values various cvars should be. We could try just rates and also try various other CVARs.
If anyone does try this out please post their experiences in this thread. Thanks.

I depends more on your video card and your drivers. My new computer you have no idea a snapshot was taken. My old computer it always froze for 3 seconds whether I did it manually or an anti-cheat client did it. I have talked to others that said they also had this same problems with screenshots. There isn't much you can do to prevent this from an anti-cheat client point of view, because it all depends on the machine's hardware and drivers.

I recently came across the 'freezing screen' while taking my match screenshots. I changed my video drivers to address some issues in other games I play, and that's precisely when it started. What eventually fixed it was making sure my DoD was at the same resolution as my desktop. Now, when taking match screenshots, there's no freezing at all.
Not sure if it's all related.
Edit: My PC isn't shitty either. Intel i7, gtx 660ti FTW, 12gb ddr3 1600mhz.

I take this back. defiance pointed out to me that it only checks models and sprites on startup since you can't change them mid-match without reconnecting. It is just the cvars it keeps checking.
