Re: HALP: Headset
hmmm. I didn't put too much thought into it, but I was hoping somewhere in/around the area of 100. Being a college student and having to pay my own way, I was hoping to not spend $300 (though those headsets do like kinda nice lol)DanJhonson wrote:Can you give a rough budget?

For your money.
My sage rock solid advice is do not buy a **** gaming headset mic/headphone combo from some **** gaming peripheral company.
Buy a real pair of headphones from a real **** audio gear lab/company.
Pay attention to the frequency response specs (wider is better)
Hear dog whistles like a **** boss.
four examples in your price range.

I love my 7506s. Best thing that happened to me. They are like full on brother to me now.CraftyDus wrote:For your money.

Re: HALP: Headset
Yeah ive heard that buying a good pair of headphones and buying a mic separate is the way to go. I bought this headset over a year ago and not to happy with em so stay away from this head set. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6826816027
Ive always heard that the audio technica ad700 headphones are great. Wish I would have spent the extra 20 or 30 for em instead of getting a full headset which I'm now having problems with my mic on my corsair's. Mic's are usually the first thing to go on a headset that's why just buying headphones and a mic separately is the way to go. Hope this helps Dicholson!

Re: HALP: Headset
Like external said about the K-701 is true. I loaned a pair from my friend to play with under a few days when he was on vacation. Enjoyed every minute of playing MW3 and BF3. Will probably buy a pair of these or the Audio Technica AD700x when my g930 stops working(again)
