- Biostar and ASRock are coming up as decent brands to use if you're not intending to overclock much

Aside from that, I haven't kept up with AMD vs. Intel with P/P (price per performance) or AMD vs. nVIDIA to adequately judge your CPU and GPU.
ATM Intel is king of both price and performance. I hated buying intel, but there's really no choice right now. Their technology is just better.

I would consider SLI'ing two cheaper GPUs rather than buying one unless you plan on eventually SLI'ing 2 more expensive cards. The GTX 460s are cheap and pretty powerful SLI'd.

whoops, read that as 2x2 4gig for some silly reason.

Intel, like nVIDIA, have been king of performance for quite a long time now, but like I said I haven't kept up-to-date with which are a better buy. Good to know. My rig has been holding strong for 4 years now, and I really have no need to upgrade yet (an e6600 running at 3.7 paired with an OV'd & OC'd 5850 still run modern games rather smoothly). Any particular reason why you've hated buying Intel?

I cant tell from the pic, but make sure to get a modular PSU. It makes your case much neater and reduces clutter, thus improving airflow. I have a 460, I agree with two o'them vs. one 560 or whatever it was that you listed. Also, you might want to look into getting a full ATX case instead of an ATX mid. Just my opinion.

Keep in mind that if BF3 uses alot of texture memory, SLI'd 1gb cards will not help. When you have 2 cards SLI'ed together, it does not combine the ram together. Rather, it renders the exact same frames on both cards. So 2 x GTX 560s @ 1GB ram = 1GB ram available, etc.

With a solo GTX 560, you're going to be turning down alot of settings anyway. Luckily, you opted for a decent processor, so your upgrade options later on are going to be ok. I would definitely invest in a beefier power supply though.

As for the case, I prefer full size ATX. I'm not a fan of dropping extra cash on water cooling, so I opted for a big case with great airflow. I'm not familiar with that brand of case you went with, but I do know they tend to be along the budget minded line. Definitely make sure you look over reviews for all the stuff you're buying (both on NewEgg and from other sites), as it will save you frustration later.

Hey guys, ended up going with the build posted but a corsair PSU. The gfx card was basically DOA (worked for about 3 hours giving me about 250 fps in TF2) then crapped out. Luckily my mobo has onboard so been able to use that until the new evga 560ti gets here.

Money was an issue that is why i did not get modular, that combined with the mid sized case made it very cluttered and annoying.

Now on to the next thing...

My Mx500 just crapped out , i bought a g400 and like it so far. But it has different dpi settigns, im using the default @ 800dpi w/ windows mouse speed at the middle. I remember a long time ago there was some regedit commands to force no mouse excel, will simply clicking no mouse excel in the win7 mouse properties icons be sufficent?

Also, what are some good pub servers.

the g400 has 4 dpi settings, the default is 800, they dont change unless you click on the up down arrows on the mouse. With this in mind should i leave it at default (800dpi) or leave it on the max for the mouse (3000dpi i believe). Also in the registery it has listed is 100% = 800 dpi, 125% = ??

edit*

also this is in the readme for the builder:
NOTE: ALL registry based mouse fixes, INCLUDING this one, ONLY work when the
Control Panel > Mouse > 'Enhance pointer precision' option is ON, OR when an
older game forces 'Enhance pointer precision' to ON.
Most newer games do not force 'Enhance pointer precision' to ON and this mouse
fix will have no effect for those games.

eh?
