Dennis you are above CrossFit.St|ck wrote:MatthewKuruse, did you ever try kettlebells? And do you know any good crossfit gyms in the peninsula?
Re: Workout Bros
In my head, when I read about crossfit, it seems to make some sense. And then I see it, and it makes zero sense.

Re: Workout Bros
It doesn't. The greatest gains in strength/muscle occurs in traditional bodybuilding, not a 15 minute olympic lifting circuit routine. It's great for burning calories, but in terms of burning fat or gaining mass/strength, it doesn't compare to traditional lifting.mg_ wrote:In my head, when I read about crossfit, it seems to make some sense. Explaining this to my friends who have gone head over heals into the crossfit/paleo cult is almost as bad as the ceebz recoil thread.alex kirk wrote:It doesn't. Re: Workout Bros
I can understand the community aspect of CrossFit. It's a bunch of people devoted to improving their health. It's not as miraculous or impressive as they make it sound, obviously, just look at kipping and prepare to LuLz. But it's a tight-knit community. I understand that and can respect their goals.Sears wrote:Explaining this to my friends who have gone head over heals into the crossfit/paleo cult is almost as bad as the ceebz recoil thread.
Paleo, on the other hand, is so downright stupid it just hurts. How people can be so accepting of what they're told by those trying to sell more books is beyond me. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid and do a little research of your own.
