People have proposed that this draft tournament take place in 1 or 2 days to avoid scheduling problems like this and no changes have been made. It's difficult enough to get 6 to show for a match in the regular TPG season, but asking one person to herd 6 randoms into a server for a possible 8 matches in a span of 2 weeks and NOT expecting forfeits is crazy. This is not directed at anyone. I'm just merely stating that a tournament of this nature should be considered for serious revision, especially since there were FF loses by multiple teams.
Note: I realize that the dates were put up ahead of time. This means that there shouldn't be ANY scheduling prior to the match and that teams should just show up and play. Lenient scheduling is what destroyed this tournament.

Maybe we are the exception here, but I know cass has taken it upon himself to contact people and make sure that we have six people confirmed for each match and possible rescheduling times/dates should the other team not be able to make the default time/day. There is a list of ringers available as well. There's no reason to not know how many are going to be on days ahead of time unless you have players just ditch you for no apparent reason (in which case there are still ringers available to play).

Pretty sure it's Tox, Shogun and Mogers case as well (half). We all played our matches (or made our best to make them happen). People laughed at me when I picked the players I've picked but in the end these very players did their best to be participate and play once I
contacted them to it because they cared in playing in the first place. I know that each person case is different but I don't think the format needs be revised at all bur rather only the
number of teams. Seansk have said in the mft vs gddlam match thread that we shouldn't really care since it's a only a draft but I particularly don't agree accepting / volunteering to be a captain and simply walk away with the burden of managing the draftees to play, reschedule matches with other captains to accomodate the players as best as possible. Well, but that's me.

My attack at the "captains" was at the double FF. The romans vs where ya head go match was supposedly scheduled on tuesday.. if you look at the bracket which ill post for the 90th time .. the match was suppose to be played either Sunday or Monday.. and the winner would play Tuesday.. Yes, it may be hard to get 6 but you have 20+ players to choose from.. Albeit they may not be the best but who cares just play the match out.. This will be the last draft.. And for those who continue to say play the match in 1 or 2 days.. Where is the proof that people will still show up for those matches? We had ppl not play on a sunday which is TPG'S Default day.

That's my point. The ability to schedule matches on other days is exactly what caused these FF losses. If TPG decided that the matches were to be played on those dates with no chance of playing a different day, then maybe those matches would have been played, even with ringers.

I'm saying that if the time period that the matches could be played was significantly condensed, then it would alleviate the pressure that captains have to find six and play on match night. Signing up for a two day tournament means that you either can or cannot play, leaving no room for a team's failure to have 6 play or loose scheduling terms.

What i was saying is that they scheduled the match on a date that the next round was suppose to be on.. how is that not the captains fault?

They are partly to blame, I agree. The real problem that I'm trying to get at though is allowing teams to schedule on other days besides the default day.
