As much as i'd love to see DoD revived back to its glory days, it will never ever happen. If by chance steam revitalized the game like they did with cs:go, then there would be a lot of interest im sure. The seriousness of the game has passed unfortunately. A majority of the people who kept this community going are older now with wives, children, jobs etc.

I do miss it dearly though.

My biggest problem with your quote is that I don't understand why you and others have seemingly simultaneously decided you are sick and tired of them now? I mean were you guys not bored of them 5 years ago too? I guess the answer is probably "Yes I was bored then too" but yet you continued playing for another 5 years, will another couple of seasons/years really hurt? Providing you have the time of course. The map thing is kind of pointless to discuss because 90% of custom maps that have ever been made for DoD just don't work well 6v6 and the ones that do work, work pretty good - which is why they are played.

I think most people agree the competitive "scene" died almost a decade ago yet TPG has continued on and still gives people a place to play DoD. There is zero point to it all yet an active league keeps the game going, a game we still all love to play. TPG teams play for nothing other than some simple one up-man-ship and up until 2-3 seasons ago there were still 4 divisions of active teams that all played their matches every Sunday (Summer or not) yet for some reason this season we've not only got half the amount of divisions but we've also got teams dying left right and center too..

Two years ago many of you guys were doing regular FOTW videos, shout casts, predictions, season reviews and write ups - reading back on old threads it seemed like people genuinely cared and this game had some life to it, that was only two years ago, not five or ten..where are all those people now? The game was "Dead" then but people still showed interest and commitment, something that's almost non existent around here now which I find really strange.

If you and others miss it dearly, is it a huge ask to get you to come back and play 40 mins of DoD once a week? Nobody is expecting the scrim situation to suddenly turn into the early 2000's with teams playing multiple games every single night for practice but if all the teams I listed in this thread (and more) would just come back for a match a week (time/life permitting) everyone would benefit, you'd all get your nostalgia fix and with more teams involved there would be more activity on here as well (which could potentially bring back things like shoutcasts, fotw's etc etc).

Again- there is ZERO point to all of this, Sears said similar in his Vegas Lan thread too but does there have to be a point? Every single winning team on the TPG Past Champions link won a big fat zero for their efforts yet I bet they probably enjoyed every single game and teams could continue to enjoy playing DoD even now if they'd just come back.

TL;DR: Play DoD, because it's awesome.

I started playing 6v6 in 2012, when DoD was really dead like in 2013 and now, so what? I enjoy playing together with friends just for fun. In January I (with few friends) created 12man polish community with 20-30 players being active each evening. Most of them were pubbers totaly new in playing 6v6 games, we learned them how to play on basic maps etc. Level was average, but it was fun for everyone. We had two servers. I became inactive(health issues) in April and that ruined little polish DoD league. Players returned to play on pubs. Yes, I could get them into euro TPG, I registeted one team, but league is dead. Its pointless to get more if admins are inactive. Voting about next season was positive, right?

Btw.

Some players left for trying be pro in CS:GO, thinking like "1.6 was better, better recoil, movement, community, tactics, nubz killz me while full auto running blah blah blah... But everyone play this so I do" Ya, wish you to beat Titan, VP or other pro team someday. I don't see any sens in playing game when you don't even enjoy it, it's wasting time. Personaly I like that game,I enjoy playing it, playing DoD, playing old strategy games(most of it noone play anymore, but I don't care, it's fun for me).

Peace

Yeah, there are a lot of players/teams that went over to CS:GO in the last year or so. I don't blame people for switching games (especially when their friends do) but I don't think TPG/DoD really asks a lot of people with regards to commitment. It's just the one game a week which usually lasts less than an hour if it all goes to plan. I'm sure it's possible for people to play TPG games on Sunday and then get straight back into CS:GO, DOTA, LoL or whatever other game they play.

I guess we will just have to wait and see if next season works out better than this one did, it would be great if more Dinosaurs of DoD decided to return to the herd.

You are wrong, we were active as admins. But starting a season with 5 teams i think it was, that's just not going to work and/or be fun. That's why the TPG EU division died.

Me and bnzr tried to chase on as much as we could, but we're not wizards. So don't blame us for people not wanting to play.
