Just talked to Tony and Sik in Vent a few days ago for the first time in maybe two years. I'll go ahead and mark them down as "in" for a reunion road trip for Vegas LAN in 2014.hatemakerr wrote:LANing was outrageously awesome. I made a ton of what I'd consider livelong friends and wish I had attended more.
Alex Kirk pretty much listed all of the good parts and a novel SHOULD be written about our adventure.
As for as the actual playing goes against whatever team jaggon was on that lan, I had a pretty great 1st half on harrington.
Leading up to that LAN stealth and I were playing a lot of Silkroad(lol) and when I was playing DoD I wasn't ever on heavy. Thought it would have been fun to snipe, I was the utility glue for my makeshift pug team. We lost to 3h by like 4 points (fluxxx's fault) and had we won that match it would have been quite the surprise to have advanced.
Oh, I remember jaggon and I exchanging laughs at nude pictures of girls on our cell phones.
It was all a lot of hothothothot fun.
I wish I had attended more LANs and wished I introduced myself more to people.

Re: Favorite Lan Memories
god after all those listed for me in advance it'll be tough to come up with much but here it goes-
-WSVG, my first lan, was all **** awesome getting to meet a bunch of guys from online, not to mention experience baloo play on lan which was probably one of the greatest things ive ever seen. kid was unreal. other than the moments already **** in prior posts, one of my favorite ones was the first night; I was in the process of making "the triple threat movie"
which was bewton, money-b and shifty powers. so the first night we had a film production smoking session kind of deal, basically i just got to smoke with those 3 guys, got super high and we laughed a lot and then rob took my leg to the front desk and hilarity ensued. as far as the actual playing of this lan, it was not great for me as the thumb trackball went out with a whisper and i moved on to normal mice and significantly better dod skill (thank you baloo for threatening to never play on a team with me again if i didnt start using a normal mouse lmao)
-x3o lan, this one was **** weird but one of my favorite memories was actually 24 hours before the lan at the marko residence, site of many interesting dod player memories, when me and chuck 'motive' d'angelo got super **** up and talked about dod and sniping for roughly 7 hours, before he then prepared himself a vegan breakfast while having to watch me ryan and polak eat home made chicken wings for breakfast :/ poor chuck.
at the lan itself, meeting the jetty guys was awesome, as they went on to be some of my best internet bros and team mates, plus the cevo season leading up to this lan brought a looot of speculation from guys that i was "no scope aimbotting" as it was so eloquently put, or no spreading (didnt even know what that was at the time) so going to the lan, sniping, and performing extremely well and getting the lan stamp of approval from all my former critics was super fun. plus talking to dan schey about sniping/getting to snipe against him twice on lan was really cool for me since I'm a giant nerd! we got second place.....i wouldn't settle for second place again ;]
-w2z lan, getting to play with some of my favorite dod players of all time, shifty money b bewtron, greg's melt down, tilljim's ball riding, meeting the thunder guys for the first time who i then played with for almost 6 years, seeing that jared is in fact a person and not a robot, watching john simpson walk, meeting ao and kirk and christian hatmaker (our nude photo comparison convo was the kind of stuff legends are made of, amirightchristian?) , tony compton, so many new faces that weren't at the 2 previous lans i had attended. and most of all, yeah, most of allllll, we went undefeated and i got my first lan ring along with two very successful lan players in shifty and bewton who hadn't won it all yet so that was awesome.
-KY lan, playing with thunder/FD on lan was a **** experience. we were fresh off an undefeated season, we were a well oiled machine with a couple solid rivalries with noluck, tap and ukz (we didn't get to play noluck but holy **** iorio and jackson were **** amazing on lan) seeing some big time online stars show up to the lan, even if i dont think HE played very well (avatar) the cain incident, the nick koehler vs specops feud that ended with nick and grant being sat next to eachother for the first match of the tourney, which we played vs one another LMAO nick in a **** sleeveless shirt and grant just cringing every time he kills nick, especially when he and ryan did the spawn boost on harrington and kept shooting nick in spawn lmao then of course, the finals was amazing. uKz took us down in the first match on harrington with a really well worked out strategy, forcing a second match on our best map rr2, which we won relatively handily but not without drama when i had to break a mid cap to keep us in the lead with a really stupid crouch hop sniper shot from ticket on a prone prefiring habib (see LaNGoN1) and we won! and that was awesome of course, just the whole lan with tox, ryan, grant, sean kalas, john gale, and our little entourage from the interweb like brad murdock who was our manager essentially, coolwhip, etc. tough to name everyone but that lan was amazing. OOOHHH I REMEMBER SOMETHING ELSE. one night our team plus a couple other guys were getting drunk in one of the FD rooms, we were watching enemy at the gates and the scene where rachel weisz gets **** by vasiili zaitsev like in the butt came on, khoi was like "yo i dont think i can watch this, my parents never let me watch this part, eh **** it ill watch it anyways" lmao we were all dying, so funny, khoi has been many of my favorite lan memories hahaha
-Socal 6- this may have been the most interesting of them all. brittany was amazing in paying for my trip and allowing me to put together a team for the lan, only requirements being that her and travis johnston be on the team, so i got kyran, menace, and iorio and we practiced hard. it was my first trip to cali, which i had wanted to do for my whole life and was noooot disappointed. the day before actually going to cali i spent a day/night with connor in arizona and got super high and ate chipotle for the first time and we saw the movie four christmases i think, super high, just awesome all around. then the trip to san diego with menace kyran and gaul was so much **** fun those guys are the absolute best, i loved getting to hang out with them, they were one of the main reasons i still want to move out there to this day. (plus zack's sister...mmmmm jaymie) there was the white russian of pwn which menace kyran gaul and i just missed. there was menace's dolphin kick, me and zack arguing over the best thing to do as a kar in apts on rr2 with the front spawn (i won the argument of course) ummm getting insanely high with tilljim, menace, connor, rng, and travis, dipping his blunts in THC honey then me curling up in a ball with my legs off on the hotel balcony bc i was toooo high. me and khoi standing side by side with my legs off and me being taller LOL. then of course, us going undefeated and winning the lan making brittany's investment 100% worthwhile and of course making the whole trip all the more fun cus who wants to lose when they fly across the country to play a video game? <3 ron, bryan, scott, dan, greg, and eric g aka the washed^ guys who we had to beat twice which was **** intense, even though a few of them hadnt hardly touched dod in a while they were still **** outstanding. getting to have actual convos with guys like jason, vazzanna, johnny, jdub, bosley, all of whom i had attended lans with before but never really spent any considerable time with until then. just an amazing trip all around and i want to go back to san diego forever and ever, its the best place in the USA
i probably forgot so much stuff, dod lans are absolutely amazing in every facet. anyone who hasnt attended one and is thinking about going to vegas but kinda straddling the fence about it, just read these posts and i can assure you that you will be certain in your choice to go.

It might be a bit more difficult fit, but I'll volunteer to sit between tony's legs. Quite sad I missed that trip.alex kirk wrote:Just talked to Tony and Sik in Vent a few days ago for the first time in maybe two years. Khoi's obviously got dibs, but without Sean we'll have a spare seat. We have a rigorous application process with many applicants. I'll forward you the pdf, just get that send back asap along with parental consent and we'll get the process started.stealthlol wrote:It might be a bit more difficult fit, but I'll volunteer to sit between tony's legs. I would legitimately go to Vegas LAN just for the road trip.

I'm realizing how much awesome shit I missed out on. Still on the fence about the Vegas thing, but this thread is making lean towards going.

I dunno, aren't you a little afraid of being raped by weirdos? That's part of whats holding me back. There's been a lot of homo on the forums lately, so much that I'm starting to question my own sexuality. If I get raped, I'd rather it be by non-weirdos.twist wrote:I'm realizing how much awesome shit I missed out on.
