Re: Your biggest DOD influences
I forgot this when I was writing up that earlier post...
I remember watching a demo of eckman rifling bridge on Anzio in shockwave vs gamewyze. He used the lowest sensitivity I had ever seen and I definitely switched to a much lower sensitivity after watching that. I realized that you could be much more consistent with super low sensitivity and you just made up for it by doing a lot of work to turn around and by always looking in the right spots.

f3nder - Almost none of you will remember him, but he got me into this game. He taught me the basics of how to play and set my rates correctly. Before my first ever, which was on rr2, he sent me a demo of pandemic vs. ukz playing that map. He was later cal-banned, but I still maintain his innocence. After the cal-ban, he aliased on mtp and taught me a lot about dod. As much as he complained, he had a knack for figuring out what needed to change to make our team win.
Surge and Ham? and the other people that hung out in their vent - When I was just a pubber, surge and koreanknife were always way faster and had better awareness, so that really motivated me to get better and helped my reaction time. When I joined the [DOS] OGL team, I was a heavy, and Ham? taught me how to heavy middle before my first ever OGL match on donner. After that, Surge taught me all of the nades I needed to know for Harrington mountain and the spots where people would be camping. A while later, after I played a season or so in CAL, I 12-manned with Surge about a million times (I think it was shortly before the time that people started thinking I cheated) over the course of two weeks and he gave me a ton of pointers and showed me how to play.
Bleargh - I watched a few of his demos to learn how to play routes that I struggled with. I also thought it was pretty awesome when shortly after watching a demo of him karring mountain on harrington, he accused me of cheating when I garanded mountain against him in a 12-man.
Dorito - I also watched a few of his demos to learn how to play harrington, rr2, and chemille. I still play like an idiot compared to him, but I definitely learned a lot from the demos.

Dorito
Koreanknife
Kellen "river oyster"
Taylor "hxc"
Bewton
Cable guy
Mainly players that still play today, but most of these guys would 12 man or scrim with my brother NoGood back in 06-07 and I'd constantly watch. These guys have taught me how to play this game even if I am still bad as ****.
