Why can't people stick with the same team/people for more than like a season and a half?

Besides one or two scattered seasons when I joined a different team due to NoGo disbanding, I have always played with the same team/people (NoGo and now 9th RB/MINO). We've never been exceptional or considered "amazing", but I like to believe we had good teamwork (even though I suck).

All in all... stop team hopping, raging, sandbagging. You guys are all ****.

I wish I could stay out of 1911 arguments. I really do. I can't though.

Defiance, buddy ol' pal... you're being a tool. Don't worry man; I'm going to explain why (I always do).

I could understand the hostility to team hopping if this was still a hyper competitive scene with professional ambitions (like it was around 2003-04) or if the league was suffering from an inordinate amount of forfeits because of team instability.

But neither is true. This is a casual community of people that have known each other for years, over a decade in some cases. People like playing with their friends. They also like to try new things; sometimes it's fun to kick off a season with a group of players you've never been on a team with yet. And from what I saw, TPG did very well this season. There appear to be 4 stable, lively divisions. Also, the admins police sandbagging situations as necessary. Narc did what was necessary and moved the team up when its talent level increased. So lay off. No harm was done to your team.

So what rational explanation could you possibly have for such hostility defiance? Your passive-aggressive, weaselly little insult toward Taylor was totally unprovoked. So what if the guy has the opportunity to pick up some players for his team. So what if he would prefer to 'manage' his own team and be a back up for it, rather than be a starter every week. And what's the big freaking deal with taking an opportunity to make your team better?

In what way does it harm you? Oh, I know... He tried to steal your Main CHAMPIONSHIP.

News flash: your team didn't have a shot at it anyway. Your competitive spirit seems a bit misguided; you shouldn't take TPG too seriously. To my knowledge, you're a relative newcomer to dod, so maybe you don't realize how casual this game really is when compared to 8 or 10 years ago. Hope you've been enlightened. Now act accordingly.

I really didn't want to make another Robert Rowe Wall of Text™. Just happens when I'm on dones and have points to make (which is very often)...

mona vegas > Dumbledores ARMY - i dont get how a team with element and kab00m went 1-7 but whatever, try and pull off the upset.
koala < Rivalry Reborn - UPSET ALERT. BRACKET BUSTER. Flags > frags, etc.
THUNDER > dgf - the winner of this match will win invite

Main
Jim's| < cBerry - the addition of scorch has really helped cBerry. I just feel like this is a map they can pull the upset off on.
|3h| < GLOCK - definitely the MOTW. Definitely a close match, less than a cap.
MVPz > ~[=] - hopefully we all realized that TRAIZE is clearly their best player, since they lost without him last time.
HD glhf MINO - i expect them to be pissed we disputed bausch last time. Whatever, lets have fun and have a good match. We won't scrim, hope you won't either!

Intermediate
tA. > aimsports - subject, mensen, illusion, corpsegrinder. Pretty good for an IM team.....
-_^KS^_- > masacre - blowout
RcL < SaB` - easily since RcL's 2 best players are suspended. Take a good rcon status.
{D.D} > [L.A.B] - shifty

Open
-_^KW^_- < FurY - fury's been scrimming, i expect the upset.
[475th] > [BAW] - even if lowcarb doesnt show up, they should have it
bMMu > {HK} - goooo BAM

I got stuck playing 3rd on solitude. That match doesnt count towards mvpz w/l ratio.

I believe that the biggest problem was when he tried to bench himself in a match for a ringer. That's pretty **** up no matter how much spin you try to put on it.

I will say defiance has been in the competitive community since 2003 maybe even earlier. We/He did lost the s25 championship by 1 point to Taylor's squad. This is not really a defend post, just throwing some facts out there. Most don't know I've been on this competitive part since 2003 as well. Just never did the 1911 part back then. defiance is a competitive person and I believe this division we are in (main), is the most competitive division within the last few years. I know taylor had no ill will towards defiance, he told me himself as I was on his team. He just wanted to know why defiance didn't like him. defiance doesn't like the "DoD Fantasy Team Manager". I understand why he doesn't like it. I see why people agree and why some don't. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion and thats about it. Lets drop the damn subject and get back to predicting matches. Good Luck to every team this week!

I don't see his comment as a weaselly little insult.. It was taking a shot at someone in a prediction, something that we all have done. It is what makes the predictions worth reading. I feel that 'competitive scene' or not sandbagging is kinda lame. And even more so for the 'casual gamer.' Some guys want to be set in a division where it is EQUAL and makes the game more enjoyable for them. This past season we tried our best to make each division as competitive and equal as possible. I feel Narc and everyone did a VERY good job at doing so. We are all happy how main playoffs are looking to turn out and for the potential upsets in invite. This has been one of the better more competitive TPG seasons.. Why? Because we have NO teams sandbagging. With only 3 divisions last season it was hard to bounce teams around to make things equal. I agree with playing with friends (ex. ryanemo jaggon mexicant cypher compton matt hudson(2003?) etc.) but when i first looked at NFC's roster i said wtf kinda combination is that (fenton, marshall, biggie, linus, stile, taylub, habib.)
Seemed like it was picked out of a hat to me.. Maybe they are all friends and i am mistaken.. But when they forced their main team to disband because they were being forced to go to invite, i felt that was lame too. it seems as though they have an entire different roster now.. An "invite" caliber roster. No hate towards taylub hes a cool guy.. just stating what i see.
