I remember Fender, he would just carbine in 12 mans all the time when I played with him.blech wrote:f3nder - Almost none of you will remember him, but he got me into this game. He taught me the basics of how to play and set my rates correctly. Before my first ever, which was on rr2, he sent me a demo of pandemic vs. ukz playing that map. He was later cal-banned, but I still maintain his innocence. After the cal-ban, he aliased on mtp and taught me a lot about dod. As much as he complained, he had a knack for figuring out what needed to change to make our team win.
Surge and Ham? and the other people that hung out in their vent - When I was just a pubber, surge and koreanknife were always way faster and had better awareness, so that really motivated me to get better and helped my reaction time. When I joined the [DOS] OGL team, I was a heavy, and Ham? taught me how to heavy middle before my first ever OGL match on donner. After that, Surge taught me all of the nades I needed to know for Harrington mountain and the spots where people would be camping. A while later, after I played a season or so in CAL, I 12-manned with Surge about a million times (I think it was shortly before the time that people started thinking I cheated) over the course of two weeks and he gave me a ton of pointers and showed me how to play.
Bleargh - I watched a few of his demos to learn how to play routes that I struggled with. I also thought it was pretty awesome when shortly after watching a demo of him karring mountain on harrington, he accused me of cheating when I garanded mountain against him in a 12-man.
Dorito - I also watched a few of his demos to learn how to play harrington, rr2, and chemille. I still play like an idiot compared to him, but I definitely learned a lot from the demos.

Yeah, he was pretty bitter about his cal-ban at that point. The only route he would play seriously was railcar and that was because it was easy to make people angry. Haha, I bet Pat remembers that scrim where f3nder sat there for like 13 minutes eating a sandwich, prone outside of rail.

Mainly players that still play today, but most of these guys would 12 man or scrim with my brother NoGood back in 06-07 and I'd constantly watch. These guys have taught me how to play this game even if I am still bad as ****.

Whoa! Thanks!!JaGGoNdd wrote:LIGHTS
jaz & Craftydus - These two were just the most famous of the absolutely insane class of lights that topped the American dod scene for a very long time but they were all absolutely explosive. Aim, reaction time, sense of the game, flashyness, bling, you name it these 2 had it. To this day I still watch all of their movies from time to time to keep some of their more creative play style tactics fresh in my mind.

My biggest influences and people who got me into this game were...
ward - When I started playing this game I use to pub with him and he would give me tips all the time <3ward
milo - Taught me a bunch of things about how to play smart, good nades, and most importantly how to be a team player. <3milo
stile- Pretty much every team I've ever been on I was on with stile. <3stile
paintball- This guy is the most retarded player and doesn't call a thing, but he is a lot of fun to play with and a great friend. <3justin
cableguy- When I first started getting into this game I use to scrim all the time with Jordan, he is an amazing player and a good mentor.<3jordan
wallu- I am stunned when I watch this guy play, amazing player. <3wallu
analog- I have always watched his movies and they have always been my favorite, really good player. <3 analog
hobbler- Taught me a lot as well in both DoD and Counter-Strike. <3hobbler
Well, that's enough ass kissing for one day.

Hihi.
My role model is a player that 99% players dont know these days. He didnt really play 1.3 at all, just a few months when it was published. He was only Team Finland player(as far as i remember) who wasnt from eclipse/spite or troopers in 3.1. He played for team K-18 (Fi. team). I would say that team would have been nothing without him, because he alone could turn game around. He was R_West, actually my brother.
2nd guy who'se movie i couldnt watch enough was Hn... final chapter.

JIZZ!!!!
i didnt go check to see if i mentioned you in my initial post or not but, you my friend were probably the european player i spent the most time admiring in hltvs and demos and all 6 of your movies. i actually have been on a noobstyle kick for the last few days again haha found them all on the archive on this website and was watching them for nostalgia sake
for those of you not familiar with jizz, he was essentially the deadbeat of european day of defeat throughout all of retail. one half of a massively dominant rifle combo (mostly playing with dw, arguably the best euro team in retail dod, rivaled only by the better lineups of unplugged/Begrip!) but one that got a little less publicity or recognition over here across the pond because he kept his movies down to only official match footage and therefore they didnt always have some of the absurd footage vs pub clans or mixes etc. but jizz is definitely one of the greatest retail rifles of all time. go check out the noobstyle movies, goodtimesindw.avi and i believe there was one more called superbeast. he also had a duo movie with Jaunty but half of it consists of knife and spade footage which, while entertaining, may not show his amazing abilities quite as clearly haha good to see you on here, jizzi. i got to play against you on donner last season (NZ vs helterskelter) and you got a few movie clips i keep hoping to see put into one final jizz movie. if you happen to have a bunch of demos saved up and you want someone to make you a high quality movie after this season, let me know! ive really wanted to broaden my horizons and make one of my favorite euros a movie (whether you or paul or jaunty or any of the other guys on the friends team. could even make a euro superplayers type of movie to go along with our NA movie called mutiny)
(yeah im ball riding, so what)
