james- wrote:It's pretty stupid to try and pick places that are on either coast, simply because a few players live there. For the westies, traveling to NY would cost a significant amount more than traveling to somewhere a bit more central, same vice versa. Not to mention more centralized cities are cheaper travel destinations, which makes it more likely that we will be able to get a larger attendance compared to if we were to make it in SoCal or NY (examples being SoCal lans and W2Z lans)

If this is meant to be a "reunion" lan of sorts, then the goal is to get as many past and present members of this community to show up. So I really think it's best to see where we can get a good venue, and try to go from there. Which is about the only reason that I think Vegas would be a good choice, you can get ridiculous package deals there.

Myself, I'll show up just about anywhere, as long as there is a decent turnout. I'd like to frag this game once last time, since I "missed" the last SoCal LAN.
Saying Vegas isn't west coast is like arguing, "We shouldn't have an east coast lan for the people on the other side of the country, so let's do Kentucky." I'm not saying you're wrong that there will probably be venues there that will be better priced, and flying in might be easier, but it's still favoring the west coast players.

Also, I'm saving up for a wedding at the moment and - no matter when the LAN would happen in the next year - will be strapped for money. So going to a place that is synonymous with sucking money from people makes me not interested. The only reason I would want to go is to meet up with the guys I hung out with at w2z and maybe meet a few others I didn't get to a chance to see as much. Going to a place simply because there are tons of bars, casinos, etc. would be - to me - a waste of money. Maybe I'm the only one who has no desire to get trashed, gamble, and meet loose women. But again, that's just me.

OBVIOUSLY. I just didn't want to make the others feel bad. I know i can say I don't want to meet up with Hatmaker. **** almost broke my rib cage because I threw a piece of ice at him.

Correction: It wasn't at him. It was just lobbed over a bed and happened to land near him. Christian "Loose-cannon" Hatmaker.

Haven't we already met once?! Hence my original comment, "The only reason I would want to go is to meet up with the guys I hung out with at w2z and maybe meet a few others I didn't get to a chance to see as much."

He felt like a big man. Like the guy who orders a round of beer for everyone in the bar.

"Don't worry guys - nachos are on me. I got this."
"Thanks, Kyle! Awesome! Wow you're swell!"

*Nachos come out*
*There's literally 16 chips with some cheese and beans on them*

Kyle:

"So we each get 2, and Kyle gets 3 since he bought them."

16? You're being generous. I think there might have been 10. Chili's obviously didn't want to deliver.

Not my fault you didn't attend to two lans that were right next to you (in a sense)!
