TPG Season 26 - Finals
Posted: Thu Nov 03, 2011 12:13 pm
Hey there folks, I started doing my broken english preds back in the beginning of the season mainly for fun (Someone had to do it even if its a bean bean ^_^). So here I am again. And for finals preds I brought Mr. Trevor Ede to do the writeup with me once more. We hope you guys enjoy it and don't forget about the DoD Draft 2!
Hey guys, this is Swiss, live from Hong Kong (Yes, amazingly enough there are a lot of Asians here as several of you have asked me). Another season is winding down and it’s been one of the better one’s over the past few seasons. Lets avoid some dispute/overturn wins in the finals, although another long forum topic might provide some amusement for those of you guys at work. Looking forward to some great matches.
TPG Season 26 Finals

Match schedule: Nov 7th (Monday) 9 pm est - most likely in XMVC server
THUNDER GLHF Owned
That was a fun season and I personally feel we did our best in order to represent Brazil defeating taylor’s minions. I hope the community has already forgiven us for spoiling the most anticipated rematch in recent DoD history between the Flawless kids and THUNDER. That needed to be done. **** doesn’t fit with sports in the majority of cases (which includes cheating in scrims also). Back to the pred, against all odds and against all rodz’s cheating disputes here we are to play TPG’s first Invite championship against THUNDER. The team that has gathered together pratically every single DoD legend from a distant past. We already played against them this season on Harrington and at least that match was somewhat close. Although rrb2 is known as THUNDER’s best map, Pdx have fulfilled his dream of getting acquainted to sevEN so he promised to turn the tide in our favor. On the other hand Jared also said that he will shit all over us like he usually does in 12man and scrims. Well, GLHF!
cAss’ is delighted to play TPG Invite finals instead of biggie, hooray!
Players to watch:
THUNDER: Tox, ryanemo
Owned: Pdx, rodz
THUNDER > Owned
Its hard to vote against Owned considering my pred last week was completely over-looking the top of the head of a crouched and ninja’ing cAss (it’s not the only time that’s happened at least). Sending the DRUGS children home with lunch boxes in hand proves they deserve to be here. But I still have to go with THUNDER on this one. I expected last week’s match against AKK to be close but it turned out much closer than most expected it to be, with the last minute go-ahead cap-out. Corey’s save on mid was huge in that match. The mm1 was also very amusing, with absolutely no one mad at all during the entire time that THUNDER was down in the match. (It looks like that mm1 rule violation wasn’t brought in to overturn the match based on the fact that there is not another 12+ page forum topic where the word logicland appears at least 10 times. Char you should really bring this mm1 issue to the forefront, rules are rules). With THUNDER surviving that match, coming back very strong in the last half and getting that timely last cap, it seemed their teamwork improved throughout the match and they got it done. They are going to need more than just good performances, but also good teamwork against Owned. And with that, the defending champs should win this thing.
Swiss: THUNDER by 2 caps
THUNDER: corey, ryan, dyelife

mindflow < 3xtreme Humiliation
One day after all the hype between Main semi finals result (where MVPz have undoubtedly won fair but for their mischance Traize rated which lead MVPz points - and jb’s pattience - to zero) and after all things 1911 brave community have discovered about Charmander past I think I am safe to say that mindflow have lost some of the credibility of being a nice team since they were Heavy Hitters. That’s really unfortunate because Taylub is a awesome guy and don’t deserve someone shitting over the team he build. Annoying. And what was that score for SLaya? C’mon he haven’t even dropped 15 bombs in some half! In the other hand 3h have proved its strenght defeating Ghad Gaming in a very close match in the their semi finals. Morever for everything 3h have passed (which include people hoppin’ in and suddenly leaving almost killing the team) they deserve to be crowned as Main champions. And usually when someone deserve something they almost always get it - either for bad or good. Good luck MoJeRz, s0v, Ricky, Joel and Kevin!
cAss’ is pretty much confident that Ricky will be disputed accused of cheating after this match - 3h by 1+ cap
Players to watch:
mindflow: Austin, Fallen
|3h|: s0v, Mogers, Ricky, Joel, Kevin, Moosh
mindflow < 3xtreme Humiliation
Are you guys sure mindflow is playing and not MVPz? Just checking again because I don’t think it would hurt if it was switched again. Is it safe to ask for more discussion? (that was rhetorical). This should be a good match, a rematch of the regular season meeting on rr2 won by mindflow. But things have changed alot since week 3, especially for 3h with Joel and Kevin coming in as key additions. Stealth should be important here on rr2 and I expect him to not only hold down both lofts but to make a major impact holding down middle. In some of the rr2 matches I’ve played with mogers, hes torn it up as well. Based on mindflow’s performance against a good MVPz team, they can obviously be beaten (oh wait, 3h will need someone to be a game-changer and rate, any takers?). Austin should be fun to watch as always but I feel like he would have to drop upwards of his normal 30-40 (with Fallen also playing well alongside him) for mindflow to pick this up.
Swiss: 3h by 2 caps
mindflow: austin, fallen
3h: stealth, mogers

I will be honest and clear, cod:k have this in their hands. Not only they proved that ingame, they didn’t had to have a technical win in order to move on during regular season and playoffs. I really don’t blame teams that dispute and get their rings disputing rates but is it feel like really winning? I guess not. Every competitive sport have rules and yet we always see someone losing a tournament due to judges or authorities that lacked the a fair sense of seeing what needed to be done in each case. DoD survived and is still being played mainly because its highly competitive game and can deliver superb moments for those who still like to spent their time playing it. Last but not least despite tA having Meinhart I believe cod:k will have this.
cAss’ is utopian and believes in a fair world. cod:k win by 2+ caps
