This week takes us to the long un-used competition map dod_Railroad. Since a lot of players either never played this map, or have not played it in competition for a while I decided to note just a little bit about it to farmiliarize players with it.

While this map has varied similarities to its updated brother, teams will easily find out that if you utilize the same strats as Railroad 2, you can easily get overwhelmed by the other team. With an overpowered axis loft, which has complete view of the allied drop spawn, and no allies sniper position to combat it, teams will rely on rifles and bars to keep the sniper pinned down enough to push into middle and out of view. Long has a lot more viability as blue room as a straight view to the axis spawn ramp and an eagle eyed rifle, or a quick sniper can lock it down. Train hasn't changed much, but both the allies side, and axis side of train make it easier to hold a team in their spawn long enough to cap middle. One of the biggest changes is the viability of ticket, with its higher windows there is little anyone can do to break a capout of mid from there other than throw a well timed grenade to break it. Finally with the mid cap the biggest thing is to make sure you are in the cap zone. With the large slab leaning on the fountain, the cap zone can disappear on a team if you are not careful.

INVITE

THUNDER v. Dice
Thunder is on a roll after losing to highball in week 2, and it is apparent that losing that match in no way affected their winning ways. After winning last week against a strong iwa team, and doing so without mainstay Toxinator, it have further progressed their dominance of the division, and confirmed their status as the team to beat for the invite championships. The one thing going against Thunder is their only loss comes off of RR2, the updated version, so we will have to find out whether that was a fluke, or do they just not have it on any railroad map. Dice meanwhile is struggling this season, and it is not for lack of trying. It seems as though they can not catch a break. After beating the now main team dpk, and renamed, they lost a tough match against 92dt on chemille. Dice will have to rely on strong teamwork, and a little bit of luck if they expect to win. Hopefully the lack of use of this map will work towards their advantage in looking for that upset win.

THUNDER > Dice - 30+
players to watch - Hudson, Dorito, paintball, mike

92dream Team v. g.skiLL
92dt has had an up and down season so far, with wins over renamed, and n2p, they have yet to show they can contend in the upper echelon of invite, but this week will show how well they stack up. With their addition of paul coon, they have added some depth to their roster, but will still need strong performances out of majl and muersan if they expect to hold apts at any time during their match. g.skiLL on the other hand is coming off of a controversial ff win last week, and while it should not affect them, they will be out of practice longer than I think they would like to. With g.skill's only loss coming to Thunder, they should handidly win this.

g.skill > 92 Dream Team - by +50
players to watch - hxc, motive, majl, paul coon.

highball v. iwa - MOTW
This I am designating as MOTW as they are two very evenly placed teams skill wise. This match will come down to which team has the better understanding of the map, and which has the best teamwork to execute that strat efficiently. On paper right now highball has the advantage, while both teams lost to g.skiLL, highball is only team so far this season to beat Thunder, and coincidentially that was on this maps sister RR2, but as it is known rr2 and rr1, while similar, are still very different strategy wise. While highball will rely on ceebz to push through the apts, iwa will have shogun there to hopefully stop him. Expect strong play from vertex and beas on highball, and their counterparts bewton and blech on iwa, the real question will be who will able to counteract jaggon's sniping, especially in that overpowered axis window.

iwa > highball - by 10+
players to watch - blech, bewton, ceebz, beas

Nothing 2 Prove v. Renamed. US
While a name may suggest other wise, both of these teams have something to prove this week. n2p is coming off of a semi-controversial FF loss last week when the breakdown in communication did not allow them to field 6 at default time. Still though it will only affect them to the point of wanting to crush the next team they are facing, which happens to be renamed. With wins over dice and 92dt, n2p has yet to break through and show what they have to offer in invite. While they have the skill of mistadobalina, and Hildebrand?, they still need to show they have the teamwork to progress any further. Renamed though is at this point trying to dig themselves out of a hole. Going into the middle of the season at 1-4 they look to continue to be at the bottom of invite for the rest of the season if they do not pull it together. Unfortunately this week I do not think that they will have that chance as n2p will come out strong and overwhelm them for the win.

n2p > Renamed - by 40+
players to watch - mistadobalina, Hildebrand?, manner, onax

MAIN

devil v. Donkey PunchN Krew - MOTW
Both teams have recently been in invite (devil last season, dpk a mid-season move down), and both teams should probably still be in invite over others, but this match on Sunday will see who could win the main championship. Devil is having an outstanding season so far going 5-0 to date, with each win being extremely convincing, their closest game came in week 2 against NoGo where they won by 49 points on RR2. With players like Watch Your Back, and Bullgooselooney one expects their performance to date. This week though they will face their toughest competition yet as dpk has the best chance of any team right now in main to beat them and squash their dreams of an undefeated title. With kaboom, who played with devil/dgf for multiple season, being supported by the likes of element and andy sheen, they could take the win this week if they are able to shut down watch your back and bullgoose. I for one am interested to see the outcome of this match.

dpk > devil - 10+
Players to watch - Kaboom, Andy Sheen, Watch Your Back, Bullgooselooney

3xtreme Humiliation v. Golly
Golly being the other invite transplant from invite has been a heavy favorite since the move, and with their only loss coming to dpk, and one of their 2 wins coming from the struggling get hit, they will need this win in order to keep the momentum going and step into the upper levels of main. 3h has had a great season thus far, their only loss coming from devil in week 4, they rebounded to beat 475th and look to continue their winning ways. This will definitely be a tough test for them though as golly is no pushover, and will require them to be on point the entire match.

3xtreme Humiliation > Golly - by 20+
Players to watch - wiLL, Joel Edmunds, Jonski, nico

NoGo Gaming Faction v. Veni Vidi Vici
vVv took a very hard loss last week to the undefeated devil, losing by 265 points, and on chemille that match I bet felt like it lasted forever. This week they will have to shove that pain deep inside and forget what happened last week as they have a tough opponent this week and will need to focus if they want to move forward. Hopefully with the late addition of twist it will help them round out their roster and put together their best players in order to win. NoGo on the other hand is a team that if they show up can beat anyone, with mino, apple, khoi, they have the skill to win main, but with lack of practice and real life getting in the way it unfortunately knocks them down from time to time, as we saw their ff loss in week 4 against 475th. While I like NoGo and the players they have, they can be inconsistent, which may hurt them in the end.

vVv > NoGo - by 15+
players to watch - fifty, crankkkkk, mino, ace

OneFiveOne v. Merrill's Marauders
151 has probably the funniest lineups in dod today, with todo and kicken in vent one cannot play without laughing at their comments, if only their reactions were as quick as their wit they would be the best in the game <3. 475th's big win this season has come off of a strong LAB team, and while they are 3-2 one of those wins comes off of a struggle get hit, and another is a ff win against NoGo. This will be their chance though to show that they deserve to be ranked where they are. With 151s lineup, and their addition of scottglass, 475th will have a difficult time this week and will need to pull out all of the stops if they intend to win.

151 > 475th - by 20+
Players to watch - Scottglass, bnzr, hypnotik, e-machine

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles v. LIKE A BOSS!
TMNT is having a rough go of it at this point in the season. With roster difficulties, and people not showing up, it would not surprise me if they are not able to field 6 this week against LAB. Hopefully Tom will be able to get them together and at least be able to play. LAB will have a difficult week as not only do they have a match against TMNT, but they also will be playing 151 as a makeup for their last week's match. Their addition of Skn will at least help them against TMNT, but is questionable if he would be available to play 151 as he was not on the roster at the time of the match. Either way LAB should be able to take this one whether or not TMNT is able to field 6.

LAB > TMNT - by 50+
Players to watch - Grimm, Stark, Tom, Mallan

Dr. v. 38th - Good people on Death Ray, and wish them the best. Looking forward to having a good match.
